Hans Albrecht (OR)

1997
As one of the first importers of the Holland Lop breed, Hans Albrecht was instrumental in the promotion of his German bred stock at shows in the west coast, conventions, and Holland nationals. Through his dedication to the advancement of the breed, Hans successfully helped many breeders get their start, which is the reason the Albrect line is behind many pedigrees today. Moveover, Hans was known, and highly respected, for selling his best, top winning rabbits and sharing his knowledge of the breed with others. His other successes also include winning BOS at the 1989 HLRSC National and Hersdman of the Year in 1992. Being a quiet man, Hans also helped behind the scenes putting the HLRSC club booth together in Portland, in 1986, and Tulsa. He also took over as Supply Chairman that year.
Hans passed away in Nov. 1997 after he learned about this award. Jamie Wardlow’s, CJ Caleb, who took Best in Show that year at convention, was the grandson of a buck he had sold Jamie the year before. Hans was ecstatic to hear about her big win! His death was felt club wide. He had sold rabbits and helped so many across the nation.
